The rise and fall of a 10th grade social climber has been a pretty great book in my opinion and I have read through it pretty far. In this book there is a 10th grade girl and her mother just left her father because her mother had met a new person; her mom’s new boyfriend according to Mimi (the narrator) is horrible. When her parents separated her father moved back to New York where they had all previously lived before they moved to Texas. When her dad had been living in New York for a while, Mimi decided to go and live with him because of the frequency of his calls. She decided to go to Baldwin and on her first day she met a girl named Amanda who at any normal school would look to be as popular as possible. She was invited to go out with Amanda on Friday and very differently from what she expected they went to a low-fat muffin place. That very Friday she was invited to a party by her childhood friend Sam. After being with Amanda for a few hours she decided to go to the party that Sam invited her to go to. At the party she found out who the real “coolies” are and she was dared to try to become a part of the group. I have not yet found the theme but I think that it is a great book and I think that you would like it too.

The book that I am reading is called Moonrise. The main settings are in the forest and in the mountains and fields. The time or place isn’t given but reading the book would make you assume that it was modern and in a place that isn’t really highly populated. Some of the characters are Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Stromfur, Feathertail Crowpaw, Tawnypelt, and Leafpaw .This book is about six cats that set out on a mission to fulfill a prophecy by star clan (cat gods). While trying to find their way back home after their quest the cats went through the mountains. While on the way through the mountains they fell off of a mountain into a waterfall. As they regained consciousness from almost drowning they were abducted and taken in by a group of mountain cats. The mountain cats were strangely fascinated with Stormfur. After staying with the mountain cats they figured out that he was actually part of the mountain cats’ prophecy. The prophecy says that Stormfur is supposed to kill a beast named sharptooth (mountain lion).
